these are my last and final holidays! - before i officially graduate and become a working adult. i can't believe it, so many things have transpired and happened in the span of only two weeks. both intense highs and rock-bottom lows, hopefully the lows will moderate out and then it will just be a happy happy life - but of course i could be asking too much (: only time will tell, i shall not rush anything but i do want to heal and get over things soon.some highlights: i watched revolutionary road with peis, an intense movie with kate winslet and leonardo dicaprio reunited as a married couple whose lives slowly fall apart. it was good! although slow-paced. shopped with huiyun jasmine shimin; watched huangcheng, the annual hwachong production courtesy of xiefen. it was such a long time since i watched any play, so it was very enjoyable! my mind kept racing at certain points, taking note of technicalities like line-delivering, lighting, sound and how the backstage crew operated. hahaha, all consequences of being an ex drama-member.
we also had a girls' night out! dinner at cafe cartel and clubbing later on at dbl-o. at first i thought it might turn out weird because the 4 of us had never gone together before - but it turned out fab! the free drinks made us all higghhh and happy and crazy ((((:

last saturday we met the germans before they left, we gathered to show them the famed east coast park! it was a simple but fun affair, honghan kindly bought durians for them to try. i tried my first durian too after 10? 15? years of not having touched any, it tasted surprisingly good and not as horrifying as i quite remember. i could possibly even like it now and yes, my parents will be excited to know i can finally join in their durian parties/cravings!
the rest cycled while honghan and i rollerbladed, it was the most shiok feeling ever, gliding into sunset and watching the ocean. seafood dinner was good, i tried zhu-zhus and gong-gongs! but my favourite part most of all was the beach at night, sinking toes into sand at water's edge and talking softly to madeleine, stars and huge ship lights sparkling at the black ocean horizon. the sea breeze was glorious, i want to feel this way more, perhaps it is time to spend one night camping on the beach.sunday shimin and i went for our taiwan tour briefing and it was hilarious, she just cracks me up with whatever she says. sarcastic comments about possible taiwan dangers and our absolutely terrible arithmetic skills; and we giggled a little too much, both of us being the youngest silliest in the whole tour group. i can't wait for the taiwan tour! - more importantly i can't wait to SHOP and EAT TONS and just totally enjoy everything.
monday night was dinner with madeleine and xinyi! to see madeleine one last time, before she flies all the way back. i miss her, i can still remember how i felt when i first met her in maastricht: tall redhaired and stunning. we talked about all manner of things over indian naan and murtabak, and randomly my neighbours ate at the next stall waving to me
and finally supper last night, sitting till 2 listening to guys bitch about engineering and shows and just random silly things, hahaha. guy and girl conversations are sooo different but they are hilarious nonetheless.
i feel so much more positive, i want my days ahead to be shiny and happy but most importantly full of love: love for my family and friends, love for the things i want to do should do will do will learn. i have not felt this way in such a long time, it was as if i dulled and faded and now the sparkle is coming back!
and one last thing to end off this long monotonous post with, just a reminder of what dineth and i talked about today: about seeing God in things and nature and beautiful scenery. and i told him how i am still not sure of my faith or God, but at moments when i see sunsets or universe sprinkled with stars or the rain, that feeling of awesomeness transcends everything - those are the defining moments when i feel Him there. as evie from V for Vendetta put it, "God is in the rain."
