today i watched two fascinating short documentaries on asassinations: an attempted bomb-attack on hitler, and the murders of indira gandhi and her son rajiv gandhi, the former prime ministers of india. human bomb putting a garland on rajiv, the thought of it is rather horrifying. it is also ironic how, as the narrator puts it, hitler's failed asassination is one of the very few where it was a regret it did not succeed.
on another note, my mum is unearthing old treasures from the mysterious second drawer of a kitchen cabinet! apple de-corers (is there even such a phrase?) egg slicers, soup oil skimmers and many more, some of which we cannot identify the purpose of. tomorrow, at this same time, i will be far-away, looking at cousins fight over toys, watching festive season shows and most importantly, RECEIVING ANGBAOS. :DD have a happy happy chinese new year everyone, this is my favourite festival of the year!
