interlude in berlin
I am taking a pause between long train rides ahead, and a cold morning of road-hunting and museum-trawling. It feels surreal, being here in Berlin: the air is sharp and cold, full of old preserved buildings and grandiose castles. Forgetting to bring my map in the morning was actually a blessing in disguise, because forced to recall streets and navigate from memory and direction, I saw more of the city than ever! recognizing shops, Christmas markets, monuments and roadnames. I can confidently traverse that whole 2-kilometre radius around Unter den Linden, Friedrichstrausse and Alexanderplatz (platssss, such a delicious word to pronounce!)
