mz heart

Weekend dazzled over in a blur, one day later and all the happenings are already merging into each other. Saturday I ate Miss Clarity Cafe for the first time: honestly I think my aglio olio tastes better! Hahaha. But the pumpkin soup was divine. I also finally got a pair of black patent leather pumps, shiny and sharp. Saturday night was Meizi's party, with vegetarian dinner. ("I don't want any animals to be killed on my birthday") Rojak was good, curry was hot, we spent the night unwrapping presents, sitting in a circle and singing.

Sunday I went Malaysia with my family and amazingly we managed to eat 3 meals within the span of 4 hours. My grandma's cake was super cute with a granny drawn onto it in cream and icing. The small children were very silly, dropping cake and eating cake off tin plates on the floor like puppies.

And Sunday night was our big surprise for Meizi! Thanks to Cindy, it was meticulously planned and carried out. She distracted Meizi while Shimin and I secretly prepared all the goodies for our moonlight picnic - candles, balloons, lots of good food and Ben&Jerry's! It went to perfection: Meizi was so blur that when she walked near the park and saw the candles, she asked Cindy, "Is it mooncake festival? Who is lighting up all these?"

The food was great, the company was even better. We laughed and got high on vodka, took tons of stupid photos, and stuffed ourselves silly. Meizi confessed that when she first saw the candles for her, she was so touched she teared and became momentarily speechless (: At 1am, we packed, trudged to Cindy's house, and took more photos while chatting in her room. We also briefly watched a Korean drama, before drifting off into sleep. Morning was a meal of noodles and leftovers (endless takopachis!! save me) before we all went home, tired but glad glad glad. I think everyone really enjoyed themselves and I am really grateful I have these girls by my side for so many years (and many more to come).
