It seems every week I come here and list all the happenings for days past; as if afraid without these words all my memories will become a hazy mess. I would love to take photos instead because language distorts and changes meaning over time, but how do you capture warmth and spontaneity and stillness on film? How do you take a picture of contentment on an evening's walk?

Last Wednesday, I had dinner with Kenneth Jason Yifang at Ding Tai Fung. I dislike that place, with its overpriced noodles and bland flavours. Perhaps I ought not to have compared it to Crystal Jade. Thursday was a long-awaited meet-up; it was wonderfully simple and down-to-earth, good solid conversation, plenty of laughter and ramen. I think Yoon Heng is just SO funny because everything he says absolutely cracks me up! Can't wait for plans to materialise, like driving to Malaysia for food. On Friday, my mum and I took Accessorize by storm, driven into a frenzy by all the half-price signs! Craziness.

Saturday the clique had a small dinner at New York New York: the food felt overpriced, although the salad tasted nice and I could barely finish my chicken-half. It was very slow-paced at first because we were extremely tired, but towards the end we had a nice long chat at stone benches under street lamps and heard some pretty scandalous things. Although as Cindy pointed out, we were very much like foreign maids in a cluster! Sunday was Jasmine's birthday party, with a simple lunch and a lovely evening of games, shouting at Settler's.

And just to round off, I had a beautiful start to the week too: celebrating Yoon Heng's dinner on Monday (which culminated in him being thrown into the Nanyang Pond), and curling up on the couch watching Live at Abbey Road featuring Craig David and James Morrison. Great music, acoustic sound, gorgeous shots, humming the night together away with my mum.
